PEAT (Financial Year 2004/05)
Numerator:
The PEAT rating for each site that has at least 10 overnight beds is calculated using the following methodology:
The total number of PEAT points achieved divided by the number of PEAT points available. This figure is expressed as a percentage and provides an initial rating for the site.
A weighting process is then applied which emphasises the areas that patients deem most important. Where applicable, this includes the areas below:
Denominator:
The total number of beds across the sites that have at least 10 overnight beds.
Indicator:
The PEAT score (1-5) achieved by each rated site in a Trust multiplied by the number of beds in each rated site summed across all rated sites divided by the total number of beds across the sites that have at least 10 overnight beds to produce an indicator value between 1 and 5.
A further caveat will be applied based on whether any site within the trust was rated as Unacceptable. The trust would not achieve this indicator if any of its sites were deemed Unacceptable. In this case, the maximum possible score would be 2.900.
